Driving without seats...

Ok, here's a semi-humorous Thread.

I have to take the bench seats out of my truck at some point in order to work on the floor (minor water damage). I'm debating what to do to it: POR or LineX. I may need to get the truck to another location.

Question: Is there a safe, jury-rigged way to drive the truck without the regular seating installed? As funny as that sounds, it's a somewhat serious question. Soapbox? Lawn-chair? lol.

Thanks.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I am for just throwing the seat in with a bolt or two. I have done the lawn chair thing as a perminant lightweight seat. It is safe enough if done right.

Re: Driving without seats...

i did the exact same thing you are talking about with a 5 gallon bucket during my por prep/radio install week. only drove it around here on the farm.

was so high on the bucket, i had to stick my head out of the window ace ventura style.

i do NOT recommend anything but original seats for safe driving.

Re: Driving without seats...

I would expect the seatbelts to be the last thing out and first thing in. Don't drive without belts or with a seat that could wander. Slap the seat in pull the belts up and go. If yor broke the bolts off what better time to install new ones then now.
