I just bought a set of new 3" drop springs from a board member & stood one of the springs beside a stock front. WOW the new ones are quite a bit shorter just sitting there. Is this going to cause problems whenever I jack the front end up in the air? They look like they will be a real pain to keep in the pockets. I always thought they were the same (unsprung)height until there was aload on them...corn

Nope, they are probably right. I have 1.5" springs along with my 2.5" spindles and when I jack up the truck, they are not real tight. When I had 2" coils in it, they would move when it was jacked up. I'm sure someone with 3's will chime in but I imagine they would probably move around pretty good when raised.

BTW, they are supposed to be shorter, unsprung.

You can put a longer rubber bumper on the bottom of your upper control arm, or a spacer on the front crossmember where the bumper contacts. That will limit your downward travel to keep the springs in the pocket while jacking.

i have 3 inch springs and they stay in there pretty good actually when i put the right side on and bolted the control arm in i didnt realize that it wasnt in on the top and i just drove it down my driveway and it popped in place

Just put your jack under the ball joint when you jack it up...
