Tech: Blazer tank conversion – Fuel Lines
Materials Needed:
1. Fuel filter for 1995 Chevy 1500 with 5.7  2. Fuel filter bracket off a junk yard 1988-1995 Chevy truck, Suburban, Blazer. (Located under Drivers side front door, inside of frame.) 3. 3/8 inch steel hard line from an auto parts store. (Approximately 84” needed for long bed. Longest I could find was 60”. Thus, the need for unions)  4. Unions for the hard line  5. Male fitting (that fits fuel filter above) 6. Line clamps for 3/8" Line

Step 1: Under the cab cut off fuel line going forward to the fuel pump.
Step 2: Install a male fitting to fit opening in Fuel filter, double flair the fitting on the line. (Tools can be borrowed to do this from a lot of the chain auto parts stores.)

Step 3: Twist filter on the hard line. Install Fuel filter bracket from junk yard truck on the inside of the frame. Drill two holes and insert two bolts.
 Step 4: The 3/8” hard line should fit the opening in the fuel filter. Bend the line to fit the frame.  (Most hard lines that you buy can easily be bent with you hand or I like to use the tread of a tire. Our frames do not need tight bends so there should be no problem.)

Step Five: Put line clamps in appropriate areas along frame to secure line.
Step Six: Connect hard line to Blazer tank with rubber hose  (I like the fuel injected hose for durability.)

I was going to try this on mine, but the fuel filter's I checked required the fuel lines with O rings and the flares wouldn't seal in the filter I had. Not sure what year I pulled lines and filters off of an 88-94 truck. Are the filters for the Blazer/Suburban different?
