thinking of a body swap.

Just aquired a 86 one ton regular cab 4x4 frame and drivetrain,
don't have a body worth putting on it, unless i junk a 70 c10
2 wheel drive, then i fear it wouldn't be worth the frame that
it is sitting on cause of the originality, mite be better to try to sell the 70 and find something. any idea's or suggestions?
sorry for the rambling on.

whats all on the frame

what kind of axles, trans, t case? <on the frame>
i personally like the 73-80 with the round headlights, and that should bolt right on that frame

i live in northern michigan

i know what you mean about finding a body. i bought my truck for 300 dollars. it had a nice hood and thats about it. you may have to check that 205 out they come in alot of variations and you may have to buy an adapter to kook it to a 400.

Whats it worth? I had the same problem as you with a short 77 chassis and I came up with this......

fabricator....if you could just find a decent cab and bed you would have a good start. don't really know what you are capable of or if you have someone to help you. the older bodies aren't really that hard to get on a newer frame.

Funny you should mention putting an older body on a newer frame. I am looking into buying a 96 GMC 1-ton dually 3500, removing the body and the dually, and putting my 72 Chevy on it. Be great to have a 6.5 turbo for a 72 pick-up. I wonder a lot about the electronics, where to put it all.
