Is there anything I need to keep off my old engine?

I am getting ready to pull the stock 305 and 700R4 from my 84 silverado short bed 2wd. Is there anything I need to keep off my old engine? I'll be putting in a 5.3 4l60e combo

From what I've read, I know I'll need the fitting that screws into the power steering pump, as well as the yoke from the 700r4 ( I think)

My main concern is that I am going to sell the engine and trans and end up needing the a bunch of low dollar items that will add up.

Thanks.

Re: Is there anything I need to keep off my old engine?

I'm just about finished with my swap in a 85c10. Some thing's that come to mind:
I would disconnect my power steering hose from the back of the pump. This is what I did instead of using the one off the 5.3.
If your using stock guages, I would pull the oil pressure, & temp sender off the old motor.
Depending on what motor mounts you use, it's likely you will be able to use the original drive shaft.
Depending on your budget, I would spring for new oil & temp sending units for a piece of mind.
Other than those few things, I can't think of anything else.
In my swap, I only used the power steering hose & the ac hoses.
Good luck with your swap

Take the fitting out of the back of the power steering pump. SCrews right back into the new LS pump. Easy peasy. Also, keep all the trans linkage stuff from the trans shift shaft. to the frame.
