Crossover Steering On Closed Knuckle

So, has anyone done a crossover steering mod to a closed knuckle (D44)? It doesn't look hard to do, just make a new top plate for the pass. side knuckle, and the crossover steering link...

Why? If you need crossover, it means you are lifting the truck, which means bigger tires. I don't know about you, but when I dd'ed my '69, I thought the front drums were ok for driving around. But loaded, or offroading, it was another story. When they got wet....
Especially with bigger tires...I wouldnt trust the drums. Just my 2 cents

1969 GMC - Awesome signature Anyhow, you are correct this is a DD, but I like to play with it also, which is why I'll slowly be putting together another truck. I was just thinking that it would allow for some more suspension articulation w/o trashing the steering box and its mount to the frame. Also, I'd like 2" (maybe 4") lift, no more than req'd to fit 35X12.5's w/o worrying about rubbing a tire. It was just one of those things I was looking into doing for S&G's. You're right about drums not stopping well when wet!!!

2-4" of lift might not give you enough room for crossover.

1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
