Arrow Inspecting axles

While I am painting my axles on my swb K10 I will have them out of the truck and I was wondering what I should look for on the dana 44's.The truck has never been drove while I have owned it and I never seen it moved except when I pull it with the 4 wheeler from garage to the shop to work on.It didnt have the lockouts installed on the front axle when I got it.So what should I look for on these axles that could possibly be damaged or worn out?Any certain areas to check?Several wheel studs are broke off, where can I get replacements and what is involved in changing them?

Re: Inspecting axles

i'd just check for the obvious, since you said it didnt have hubs inspect the wheel bearings, and maybe look at the ball joints too.

Re: Inspecting axles

I wouldnt think it would have 3:08's on it being a granny 4 speed but who knows.I will figure it out when I rebuild them.

Re: Inspecting axles

I can't confirm but have been told that my 68 has them. It has a granny gear as well. No other gearing listed on the glove box either.
