Help with pics on original engine space
Hello,
I´m new to this forum. I would like som help, with som pics on how the engine space looks original and maybe the interior. How rare are cst's? I live in Sweden, I haven't seen any more here. I have a Cst/10 -70, With orignal engine and gearbox matchning numbers. But i want it to be patina on the outside of the car, but not on the inside. Thank you and have a nice weekend! / Mattias Last edited by Millberg; 01-26-2020 at 10:59 AM. |

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
Welcome to the board. You have an original big-block truck there. I imagine that's very rare in Sweden. Your truck also has some other nice options on it. Congratulations.

Yeah it's a great truck. Just going to give it some love this Winter. It would be great to see how the engine room looks original. And maybe the interior. Does anyone know if it's the original color? Did it come with the white as well? The air-condition is unfortunately missing. ☹️ We're is the best online part store? That send to Sweden? |

Thanks for the pic's. It helps a lot. 👍👍
I need to have a proper look at my vacuum system. Is there any diagram/pictures of how it's supposed to be available to see? Thanks again, have a nice Sunday. // Mattias |

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
Hello friends.
Today I've spent a few hours in the garage. My plan is to paint the engine room black, but I have a couple questions. Do I paint everything black? ( The engine will be chevy orange ) What would you do? 😁🤜🤛 |

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
I would suggest you reconsider painting the under hood area black ! The factory never did that, unless it’s a black truck.

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
My 68 stepper had black fenders and the bottom side was black. The fire wall was truck color though. Radiator support was all black.
I will say you shouldn't paint it all black but it's your truck. Mono black just want be my first choice.

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
Very helpful, thank you.
I don't want to do something that makes the car less worth. The reason why I want to paint it, is because the cars in Sweden Rost, the weather is terrible ( 🤪 ) for cars. I do like the patina on the car but it would be nice to have it Nice on the inside. Would you : 1:. Paint the fenders, radiator black and clear coat the firewall? 2:. Just Clear coat the fenders, radiator and the firewall? To ceep the patina on the inside as well. And depending on what you would do,leave the engine as it is or repaint it? Thank you for helping me, it means a lot. // Mattias |

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
I would recommend leaving the firewall body color, and repainting the fender wells and core support satin black. Even us fans of patina like a clean engine bay. Although your under hood parts look pretty clean already. Not sure I'd bother clear coating anything under the hood, but that's just me.
Nice color combo...

I have a another question, the frame ( chassi ) is rusty as well, but only on the surface. Can I only clean the surface and then paint it with black paint for steel/rust? Or is it better to just leave it and maybe spray it with oil? |

Re: Help with pics on original engine space
Looking good.....Oil on the frame tends to collect dirt and then water keeps it wet....better to clean up and paint.
