Stock HP 350 4bbl

Can anyone tell me what the stock Hp on a C10 350 4bbl is. I just picked up a 03 silverado 5.3/4l60e engine thats supposed to be about 285 HP and was wondering what gains I will see other than the FI and OD.

prolly no gain. That stock 350 i would guess is in the 300 hp range. More than likely under 300

Re: Stock HP 350 4bbl

The 71 engine was rated at 250 hp.

In 1972 the rating system was changed to a net horse power rating so the 72's were rated at 175 hp.

The 03 engine is rated like the 72 so your comparison would be 285 as compared to 175. You would gain 110 hp with the swap out.

Re: Stock HP 350 4bbl

Thanks guys. I had suspected it would be around a 100 hp gain. I think 110 hp and better mileage makes the swap worthwhile.

My stock motor is getting tired and I came across the 5.3 with a 4l60 for $750 80k mile and couldn't pass it up. It has everything, the PCM, wiring, accessories, hoses and fuse box. From what I've read its not a bad swap just takes some time.
