71 GMC back to original
1971 GMC LWB Fleetside going back to original as best as I can...It's all numbers matching, and unmolested...
It's my fiance's truck, but she can't drive a standard, especially one on a column she gets so confused! lol So I guess I'm gonna have to drive her around! lol I bought it with the bed shot, somehow it was still inspected, I think it was because he still had all four original hubcabs! lol It needs some brackets/frame work, and some cab work done...over all, I'm hoping I don't find to many suprises! It seems pretty solid for being up here in PA all it's life... The roof/drip rails are all solid and the cowling is immaculate! Inner fender wells, some other "small" details, and some paint, and I should have this on the road for spring! Enjoy this back to original Daily Driver!

Re: 71 GMC back to original
Some more pics of "progress"
The first pic is of my girl still trying to figure out how to drive a three speed! lol The second pic is after the back half of the frame was blasted and POR 15'd Also a little more work on the cab corner and I drew the line...It's ready for the bed... Third and fourth pic are with the new bed on it...still have the cab work to do and wiring in the tailights... It's probably going to be a bit till I get time to get back on this one, It's been at a stand still since I started doing a 68 work truck this winter...

Re: 71 GMC back to original
Nice work. I like the dog in the drivers seat. I heard on the radio today that some guys trained some dogs to drive somewhat. Think it was mini coopers.
here it is http://youtu.be/5ImmbxThnjc

Re: 71 GMC back to original
Wow, that's a super clean truck for salty roads pee yeah. I do not miss the rust!! I lived in Rouseville for a few years, ran a muffler/brake shop in Franklin. Learned to turn wrenches with one hand cuz you had to have a torch in the other! |

Re: 71 GMC back to original
Thanks 67wannabe, The truck actually came from Bankson Rd!!! He was original owner, and he worked at Pennzoil, so he must of always oiled it. It's gonna be back on the road in the spring!

Re: 71 GMC back to original
Thanks...It's in hibernation at the moment, I'm re-doing the seat and basting up the wheels, I've got to order up some parts for it yet, inner wheel wheels, and alot of little stuff...Interior and lighting mainly. My attention is on my 68 for the next month or so!
