Option Number G50

I completely enjoy figuring this stuff out and all the input from the
Members, Thanks

I just got a 1971 K20 and it came with option number G50 “ Heavy Rear Spring”

My question is;
Does anyone know the number of leafs in the G50 rear spring -vs- the stock spring ?
-or-
Is the option over load springs ?

Option F60 “ Heavy Front Spring “ is also an Option for this new to me Pickup and I would like the same question answered about the number of leafs for stock -vs- the F60 Option . I know the front springs are not original on this pickup, the originals have been replaced with some lift kit springs.

Thanks for all input again

..

Re: Option Number G50

This truck has the option code G50. I am curious if the 6 leaf spring is the option, or the overloads, or both ? If someone with a K20 can let me know the number of rear leafs it would be great
Thanks

The rear G60 aux springs were not available on K trucks I believe.

Re: Option Number G50

got a C20 longhorn with G60 back home and another C20 longhorn and K20 suburban here both with G50..

after the rain stops I can go out and count spring leafs on the longhorn but the burb is lifted so unreliable for factory reference..

good luck!

Re: Option Number G50

Mine has both G50 and G60 options but the PO took the aux springs off, it has a coil spring Dana 60.

Re: Option Number G50

I thought I had a picture on my phone of my K20 springs, that truck doesn't have a SPID.
