Hey everyone, wanted to see some pics of LT1 swaps, im working on one in C10 and wanted to see come pics of clean swaps. Lets see your work!

I need to get a/c lines in and a few misc. and I will be able to turn the key to start it. I have not posted pictures for a few reasons, maybe I need to be a supporter?, and wow when people post pictures and ask for opinions its like in my opinion throwing fresh meat to grizzly bears, you dont want to be near the vacinity unless your tuff as steel. but the LT1 sure looks sweet in my opinion in my 72

Here is a couple shots of mine. It still needs cleaned up, A/C completed, and battery moved to other side so I can change where intake/filter sits. Go easy on me

I have a complete aftermarket wire harness for a LT1/700r4 swap and a computer to run it all.... Its just collecting dust in my garage. not trying to hijack or anything, just trying to help.

Nice work Shane - brake booster is trick.

This is a work in progress, so go easy on me too. Runs great, I like the six speed and hydraulic clutch. Currently reworking motor mounts back to stock and relocating the A/C compressor.

I have also included a picture of a buddies LT1 in a 66 burb. He has stock motor mounts and has relocated the AC compressor.

Both motors are Camaro motors. Hope this helps.

i dont have mine wired yet but its on the frame with the 4L60E behind it. wheres the best place to get driver side a/c mount brackets? or best place to get the wiring for it? thanks in advance.

I got my AC brackets from Bowers Rod Shop (www.bowersrodshop.com). It isn't flashy like some, but functional, well done, and well priced. A fraction of the billet stuff.

I modified the stock harness for my application/programming, so not sure where to go there.

Jeezz guys... what are you guys scared about? "go easy on me"??? As far as i'm concerned, not a whole lotta people can go hard on you guys for having balls and pulling off this swap. They look awesome guys and I only wish I could do something like that!

has anyone done a wire by wire thread on how to weed out what you need? i would almost pay if someone put that together to get it done.

There are several "how to wire" break downs of the LT1 harness. I did it myself and it wasnt too terrible. I can point you in the right direction if you need help.

for info I used, I went to www.shbox.com and www.LT1wiring. com and Granny's they all have very good info, keep in mind, dont do what I did, I sent the computer off for reprogramming and in the mean time, I need to say less then 2 weeks to get my computer back I bought a diffrent cam and fuel injectors and didnt tell the guys who worked on my computer till much later and I talked to them and well I had to get it reprogrammed, not expensive but still additional cost I didnt want. so keep in mind when you get it reprogrammed dont change your mind in the middle of the stream, YOU'LL GET WET

I had an LT1 in mine before the diesel. I loved that engine. as for wiring, I reworked the factory harness as well. I used diagrams from lt1.com, some site on geocitys i found, and a hayns manuel. The hayns manuel was the best help. I just highlited all the power leads, and then traced them in the harnes with a test Meter. Then i ran those to an auxilery fuse box. I used a vats moduel from fuel injection.com, and ran a stock computer. I was going to have it reprogramed because i deleted all the emissions stuff and it always threw those codes, but I swapd in the deisel insted.

Its mounted right under the glovebox cardboard liner. I built a bracket and it tucks up out of the way quite nicely. It may have to move if/when I add A/C though.

Usually anytime posts anything to do with the LT-1 somebody always starts the "why go with LT-1, the LS series is sooooooooo much better" conversation!!

I did mine back in 99, the ls moters were bank back then, I loved my LT-1, I sold it to a budy who droped it in a 70 nova, he loves it too. I would say price would be the main reason.
