1/2 ton or 1 ton crossmember
Is there any difference between the 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton or 1 ton crossmembers? I am buying a 1 ton crossmember (hopefully) to chop for my 1/2 ton C-10. Anyone know if I should watch out for anything?

Re: 1/2 ton or 1 ton crossmember
I believe that the lower A arm cross shafts mount Differently so if you are using 1/2 ton A arms you might want to check that out , and they may be heavier ??

Re: 1/2 ton or 1 ton crossmember
The cross shafts on the 3/4 and on ton lower control arms are bigger, therefore the mounts on the crossmember are also bigger. the crossmember dimensions i believe are the same though, but don't quote me on it!

Re: 1/2 ton or 1 ton crossmember
Thanks for the help so far guys.
Captainfab- I have a '65 and the donor crossmember I found was from a 1 ton dually. Real good price, $35 less than anyone else. So I wanted to use it, but if it required more work, then I will invest the money.

Re: 1/2 ton or 1 ton crossmember
Is the Dually crossmember a '63-'66, '67-'72 or a '73-'87?

Re: 1/2 ton or 1 ton crossmember
That will use the round LCA shafts. I'm pretty sure that the LCA shafts are the same size between C10,C20 and C30 within the '73-'87 years. What lower control arms are you going to use?
