Rear axle problem
 I need to remove my axles to replace the seals. When I removed the bolt/pin that retains the spider gear pin all I got was 3/8 in of threads and no pin. I have been told to pick it out but no success. Any suggestions?

Well.... welcome to the club, this is a common problem that most get to enjoy.
First try lightly tapping the pin with a ball pien hammer then rotate the carrier and tap the other side. What happens is the spider axle over time gets twisted and binds the pin. You might get lucky and the pin just falls out. Or less desirable on many levels is that you will have to drill out the pin. I aways tap on the spider axle first then remove the pin. (That is after of course the first time)  Good luck

 extractor tool with sucess.

X3... the extractor kit is the only way to go.

When all else fails ...BFH ! it won't get the pin out but you'll feel a whole lot better after beating on it for awhile !
