how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

I ordered a new electric wiper conversion kit from truck and car shop and this is what i got. Has anyone ordered one of these? Am i missing any parts? Clearly it does mount like the old unit.

You sure that unit isn't for a 58 Car? My immigration isn't seeing a simple way to make it work7

Their catalog says you should have a 58-04704 On page 34 of the truck catalog

On my 49 it mounted in the stock location, just upside down, motor on the bottom(towards the dash) and the arm studs are up towards the cowl.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

I don't see it going in like that , I'm calling truck and car shop tomorrow. This is crazy, it's supposed to be a direct bolt on part.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

Here is how the original factory electric motor mounted in my 59. Motor was out of a 57 GMC. The weld on the arms was to correct mods from a previous 62 wiper motor install.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

Called the truck shop today and they said that the new electric unit replaces the old vacuum type setup. It does need the vacuum type bracket which I don't have since mine was electric. Does anyone have a pic of the vacuum type bracket? Anyone have one for sale?

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

I'd think someone would sell just the bracket for your motor.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

I'm not finding a mounting bracket for the after market motor by it's self in a bit of searching but if you have the old electric motor you might use the bracket off it to design/fab one that will work.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

Looks like that's what I'm going to do. I'll measure the old motors position and come up with something. This wiper problem is keeping me from installing my vintage air system.

I pulled my vaccum and the factory electric mounted in the same location. Do not have the vaccum motor anymore to see if it had another bracket.

Just looked at the FAM section 1 sheet 53. The vaccum motor did have another wide U shaped bracket that bolted to the brace, hung down and screwed to the motor. Looks like it would be easy to fab out of light flat stock. Notice view A show the attachment to the side brace.

That's it, that is what I need to make the new electric motor work.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

Located correct bracket today, a guy in the country has a couple of 58-59 trucks that he parts out. I went to look today and took some tools but didn't have my clutch bit drive set. The original fasteners are clutch type screws/bolts. I'm going back tomorrow and should have this problem solved. The guy is selling me the whole setup (vac motor, arms, and bracket) for $20.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

Sounds like it is working out ok. If they are in good shape get the bezels and nuts too.

Those were pitted a bit, I have new parts that I bought earlier this year. I sure want to get this wiper thing done so I can continue putting the truck back together. It's holding up my vintage air install too.

Re: how does the aftermarket electric wiper motor attach?

Update
Got the bracket and everything went in perfectly. The new electric motor works great.
I wonder why the kit doesn't come with a bracket in the first place. You would think for the price of the kit ($179) they could have stamped the bracket and made it a part of the assembly.
