MII front suspension-brake line

Guys with MII style front suspension. How did you guys run the brake line from the master cylinder to driver front then to passenger front? I'm more interested in the one you made to cross from drivers to passengers side. Thanks in advance!

Mr. parkwood-
Please explain what this photo is showing me. Some sort of adjustment knob for the rear axle's fluid? (I thought I was fairly knowledgeable) Thx!

That is an adjustable proportioning valve. It allows you to slow down the pressure rise that occurs when you apply the rear brakes. When braking, more weight is transferred to the front which can cause the rear brakes to lock up if it gets pressure to fast. Thus adjustable proportioning valve.

Re: MII front suspension-brake line

Highsider-

I can help you. Parkwood (Wayne) is probably busy building awesome streetrods...

You are correct. It is a way to adjus the pressure to the rear brakes. I used one on my truck as well. Here is a pretty good explination that I found.

"A Proportioning Valve is installed in the rear brake line and allows you to adjust the rate of pressure rise to the back brakes. With an adjustable proportioning valve, you can slow down the pressure rise that occurs when you apply the brakes. Under braking, most vehicles transfer more weight to the front wheels. When this happens, the rear wheels lose some weight and can lock up if the pressure is too great too quickly in the braking process. Eventually full pressure is applied to the rear brakes through the proportioning valve."

Re: MII front suspension-brake line

I have never really adjusted mine. I'm using a 4 wheel disc brake set up with a camero booster. I turned the dial to the center and my truck stops really good, so I have never even adjusted it.

Maybe I got lucky.

Parkwood or anyone who has,

Have you ever used the brake line Thru-Frame Fittings? If so whats your experience with them. I never used them but I've been thinking about it because it looks to make for a really clean install.

Kabwe, i've used them on my Hot Rods (early Fords) the main thing i've found is make sure you drill a straight hole or they will not lay flat.. and you use AN fittings on the side going to the brakes.. the inside you can put adapters in for AN or use normal brake lines.. with an adapter... i'll see if i have pictures some where..

No, no leaks as long as you tighten them down... they clean up where the brake lines come through the frame and look like you took time to make it look nice.. I'm not sure what they cost but i don't think they are giving them away..
here is what they look like on my '33 coupe..

That looks clean. They are about 50 bucks for a set and I don't mind spending money on things like that because I love attention to detail items. It looks like you tee off the one on the driver side is that correct. If so I like that.

Thanks for the information.
