Clacking noise source?

350,3 speed. Noticed a clacking noise yesterday on the way into town. Happens about 10 mph after each shift point. Went home checked and tightened the exhaust, checked tranny fluid and removed the fan shroud.

Still got the noise. I'm going to remove the flywheel dust cover this afternoon. Anyone got any other idears??

Thanks,
Tim

Probably the clutch, if it makes the noise after shifts. Pressure plate maybe loose rivet?

Finally got a few minutes to take down the flywheel cover. Took it out for a spin and no noise. Put it back on back asswards and will drive it into work tomorrow. I saw slight rub marks from flywheel on cover facing tranny. Hopefully the problem is solved. These trucks are too simple to have major league problems.

Nothing like an old Chevy.

My stepson has a piece of crap Mopar Dodge Spirit. I just about called my buddy with his wrecker and had him come over and take it away. Every freakin week or two lately the kid comes in and says the thing is running like crap. O2 sensor, TPS sensor pain in the ask.
