Another "what's it worth" thread

At any rate, I've been stalking a forrest green? (I forget the real name) 68 c-10 127" wheelbase, all original with protecto plate, 327 TH350, RV mirrors manual steering, manual 4-wheel drum brakes, and that's about all I can think of as far as features go.

Condition: paint is faded and hazing badly, and all panels are pretty straight and dent-free, the front clip is in great shape structurally, but that's about where the beauty ends. Doors are fair with slight & probably repairable rust at the front bottom corners, both rockers are on their way out but would probably survive for a few more years as-is. 1 cab support has been replaced, and the pass side front cab support is in need of replacing. The floors are in good shape, cab corners are fair, and the bed is in fair shape but will probably need either re-done or replaced in the future.

The trailing arms are beyond repair, the engine runs pretty good but has plenty of oil leaks and the transmission feels pretty good. This might be easier with pictures, but I think I've described the truck fairly well. It looks like it did when it rolled off the assembly line + 37 years of weathering and light wear and tear.

Basically, my plan is to fix the cab support and trailing arms, and tinker with it for a year or 2, and eventually tear the whole thing apart and re-do the cab.

In your opinion, what is a fair price to pay for a truck in this shape? I know it's going to need thousands of $$ to make it right, so I'm hesitant to pay top dollar for this thing.

Thanks for reading

Jim,

Sounds like a ~$800 to 1400 truck?

One thing is they didn't have a TH350 in 68', so if it's all original and a 3 speed auto, it's a TH400.

Woodland Green.I`d say $500-1,000.But,that`s what it "should" be.If you really like this one,I wouldn`t go more than $1,500.

That`s nice paint VetteVet.I was thinking`72 when I was printing(brain fart). If it`s not metallic, they did have Woodland Green, also.Everybody calls it Forest or Hunter. It`s actual a fleet color that they used from time to time in their paint selection.I`ve had a`52 PU,`71 Blazer, and ordered a`92 GMC Truck in Woodland Green.

That's kinda what I thought. I offered $500 for it as-is, and was turned down. Oh well, guess I'll keep looking! About the tranny - it looks to be original 3-speed auto, maybe it was a 400.

Thanks -
