Transmission suggetion - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm not a big fan of the 4 spd manual tranny in my truck and was thinking about swapping for a th400 or a newer 5 spd. I use the truck as a daily driver but abut half the time I do pull a small landscape trailer (16ft). Id like to get as much mileage out of it as possible but would like a pretty straight forward swap. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you are looking for mileage than go to a newer 5 speed manual.
