How to get rid of the horse

Well I got a used bench seat. It is simple black and in vynal. I only have one problem with it. It has been in my truck for 2 or so months and now my whole cab smells like horse. The seat sat in a barn for a couple of years and now i can't get the smell out. I have cleaned and treated the vynal but it seems the smell is embedded in the foam. Any ideas on how to cover the smell or get rid of it. I have thought about air fresheners but i am not a fan of the fake smell the give off.

An old trick of the slezzy used car salesman is to throw a bar or two of Irish Spring soap under the seat.

But somehow i have the fealing that there may not be too much your gonna be able to do with it except to have it totaly redone to eliminate that smell.

Good luck.

an odour remover with polyproplene glycol. something from the hotel house-keeping cart will do the trick.

FAA from zep work wonders. ozium is available everywhere and works pretty well too. ($4-$5) i'm fairly certain it contains polypropolene glycol.

if that fails, spend $5 on a box of outdoor fresh bounce dryer sheets and stuff / line 40 of them underneath the springs. as the odour (tries) to pour out, it's filtered thru the sheets!

ahhh! outdoor fresh is better than barn yard's best.

Re: How to get rid of the horse

i'd get like 5 incense sticks and burn them in there with the windows up. then just let the smoke "clam bake" in there overnight. that will do the trick

Sometimes the smell of those smell good things, are worse than the stuff you are trying to get rid of.
