difference in fuel pumps

Auto zone lists a 3 line and a 2 line. What is the difference between the two? and why? I am guessing I need a 3 line on my 72 but who knows.

Re: difference in fuel pumps

I had a 3 line originally on my 72. I ended up getting a 2 line pump. One inlet, one outlet. The third line I believe was a return line to the tank. I just capped that 3rd line, and it works fine.
