new guy new project65

hello all just joined the forums, pretty cool looking thru everyones builds and threads. still figuring things out. but anyway just bout a 65 chevy stepside, has a 327 n 3 on the tree, it runs and drives pretty well needs some tlc and alot of body work, the truck was painted at some point and everything is poping and rusting back out. havent decided on what i want the finish product to look like but i kno i want a rat rod type look, satin clear, some old rallys and i would also love to bag it
let me know what you think

Welcome to the forum

I agree, looks like a good truck to work with. If it runs and drives, that's a plus.

That title shows up when you are a paying member. Compared to the cost and value of magazines, a subscription is a bargain at $25 a year for the amount of information available here. This is a link explaining the offerings:

Re: new guy new project65

Sweet deal on the wheels. Looks like you got the good stainless trim rings too

I run 275/60-15's all the way around on my Suburban, with the Rally wheels.

Re: new guy new project65

made some pretty good progress today, took my wheels in friday and got the tries mounted and balanced but didnt have time to throw them on til today, im a big fan of solid black wheels with white letter tires so i knew i would like it, also did alot of wiring work as well, the only light that were working were the markers up front, so i had to get the rest working(all ground issues) heres some pics let me kno what you think

Re: new guy new project65

been doin some small things under the hood recently, things that just need replaced like the fuel filter, spark plug wires, plugs etc.. my buddy whose helping me(since im a body guy not a motor guy lol) said i should think about switching from points to an HEI ignition, so i might be doing that if i can source the right parts for the right price, the jager bottles are going to replace a wine bottle that ive been using as my coolant overflow tank
