SPID code questions-

I took the burgandy cloth seat (77D code) out of my 85 today and replaced my 84 burgandy vinyl (77W code) seat. I was kind of dissappointed when done because the cloth seat looks red compared to the vinyl. I will post pics of the SPID sticker. What is the difference in the D and W. Is it just a year designation difference?

On my 84 (Chevy) K30 there is a couple of codes on the SPID sticker and say GMC on it. One has to do with the seat and the other I am not sure. Can anyone shed light as to why it says GMC and it is a chevy truck? The vin matches the SPID, title and vin tag on dash and it is chevy.

On the 77W RPO code it doesn't quite say what it is suppose to. It ends in the dua?
And what is all the other letters and numbers mean that are right under that RPO code.

This isn't going to be entirely satisfactory, but here goes:

a) What is 77D vs 77W?
Ans: The "D" and the "W" are extra codes that don't have a ton of significance. The primary tracking is done by the "LEE1" quick spec (for Burg Cloth in a Silverado) vs "CEE1" (Burgandy Vinyl in a Scottsdale). So they are primary a "cloth vs vinyl" difference, not a model year thing.

b) What does the "DUA" stand for?
Ans: Short for "Dual tone cloth/vinyl woven trim" - which would be a bit much to put on a SPID

c) Why does it have GMC verbiage on the SPID if it's a Chevy?
Ans: I don't know. I've seen it go the other way - often - because that's really all a GMC truck is: It's a Chevy with RPO Z88. But - I don't think I've seen GMC verbiage on a Chevy SPID nor would I ever expect to. It's sort of a moot point anyway, since Z62 is the designation for mid-level trim regardless of the marketing nameplate.

d) What do the additional codes "OCR-E999-G003" mean?
Ans: I don't know on that one, either. Nothing is jumping out at me, so it must not be terribly significant.

Sidebar: you didn't ask, but the ladies at my house always hated the bright red exterior/burgandy interior combination - even when it was new.

When I redid my truck I went back together with black IP top pad, floor mat, seat and door trim panels.

I think it really makes it pop, especially with that chrome shift handle sticking up from the floor.

Thanks Keith. Someone must have switched out the seat before since the one I took out is all vinyl. Also the door panels are all vinyl with no cloth insert which may not have anything to do with this code. Just observation. I am dissappointed that the burgandy cloth looks red compared to the door panels and dash verse the burgandy vinyl I took out.

The previous owner to this truck had repainted the metal dash and all the other metal showing black. I think with that being done and all the panels, dashpad, seat and carpet being burgandy that it really looks nice against the black. It is a Scottsdale and I have been debating about putting all the silverado trim in it. I kind of like it the way it is now.
