71 k10 rag joint conversion help

hi. i have a 71 k10 it has a 3" body lift and i want to drop the rag joint. i was looking around and found a few sites that talked about 84-96 jeep cherokee or old astro van intermediate shaft swaps. as far as i can tell my box is a 3/4 30spline and the top is the same. now the jeep shaft has splines on the bottom end but the top of the shaft is a double D. i dont want to swap out my steering colume.. so what have you guys been doing ? besides buying a flaming river. or borgesen shaft? or is that the way i have to go ? any help would be great thanx
