throttle hookup

my '62 had a throttle cable (schucks style) and my '61 has a mechanical lever, but I don't have the rest of the pieces to connect it to the carb. can I see some examples of how this is maybe 'supposed' to be setup? lol for now to get it running, I've created a make-shift solution using the old throttle line but I don't think its a good idea.

Not sure which way you're looking to go, but for the mechanical setup this thread may be of some value:

Re: throttle hookup

Here is the one i made for about $8 from True Value hardware. It works great. Just some food for thought. I have since Z'd the rod for a cleaner look and replaced the threaded end with and put heims on both ends. I can get a pic of it installed if you want it.

Re: throttle hookup

Like i said before, i had to "adjust" it to clear my trans cable bracket. Here is an updated pic to show how it is installed now. The threaded end with the nut on it before kept loosening up, so i added the heim on the other end to make sure it was tight and i haven't touched it since. Anyway, here is the pic.
