Ugly Extended Cab Truck

This truck was spotted last week in northern Washington, up in the tulip area. The body looks to be in excellent condition...short bed. Probably one of those built by specialty coach companies for rail roads or forest service, etc. Notice the stock hubcaps---nice, huh?

i think there's one like that on Longhornmail's website...except for the short bed span between the cab and wheelwells, I think its kinda cool

That is exactly like one on my site...the one that belongs to Fine69 in Urbana. This is only the second one I have ever seen proof of.
Cool.

Looks like who ever built it did a good job, I'd change that side window in the extended cab, it looks corny

It is not a home done job, this was from a conversion company back when the truck was new.

There was a guy trying to sell one about a year ago because I considered buying. I did have a ton of pics but I will have to dig and see if I still have them. It was 2 tone blue/white

Heres the link that the guy was trying to sell the extended cab. However, the pics I had were on picturetrail so they are now gone since I refuse to pay.

No it was in Oregan I believe but it was definetly a two tone truck blue and white and his name is on the link I posted above. He emailed me a bunch of pics but I posted them on my picturetrail account and when my other comp died I lost them off my hard drive

its too low for a 4x4, fender gap should be bigger, as well as a cutout in the front hubcaps for the hubs.

I like it. I'd have to do something with that side window and put a long box on it. I think it would look better stretched out some instead of having that goofy short-short box on it.

A few changes and that would be a killer extended cab truck. Change the window in the extension part change over to a longer frame to accomadate a regular short box would give a killer foundation.

My guess to its year is a 69 or 70

Enlarge the window to match the door glass, figure out how to put a stepside on it and it would Rock!

Lots of time on the drawing board and in the welding shop to make that look "in proportion". It would be a fun project and that would be a nice starting point.

I think it's cool that they made these (though it sounds like just a few) ext cab truck back then, and now they're making all kinds of trucks with the short-short beds.

I wonder it has that little fold out cage like some of the new ones due

A cab like that would work great with my 158" dually and then I might be able to use a stock long bed with just the addition of wheel flares for the duallies. Right now I'm looking at chopping two cabs to make a crew cab out of it!
