Where to run vacuum and where to plug it off???

I recently built a 355 for my 69. I need to know what the minimum vacuum requirments are. The intake is not an egr intake. I dont have any canisters on the truck. I know i need vacuum to the hei advance, and pcv valve, but what else is necessary? Should I just plug the rest of it off? The truck is kind of a "rat rod" so I would like to keep it all basic.

If you have an automatic trans, it needs manifold vacuum to the modulator. All that is left is the pcv, to the large port on the carb, and manifold vacuum to the distributor. Some engines want manifold vacuum for the advance, some like ported vacuum, and some don't want any! Experiment for the best results on that one. Usually the manifold vacuum ports are below the butterfly plates and ported ports are slightly above them, for reference.

Fantastic! I actally have the original 400 tranny in it now but I have purchased a 350 with a shift kit and stall conveter I hope to have in soon. Thanks for the fast reply!
