seting up the TV cable for my 2004R

Guys, Im a little stumped on this one. Ive never delt with a TV cable before, or a dentent for that matter. So bare with me please!

The TV cable I bought was a universal length one that you adjusted. I think I made it the right length. The truck shifts at the correct points. My problem is two fold. One: the torque convertor will only lock up in 4th gear. Two: once in 4th gear, the torque convertor will not un lock unitl Im in 3rd. Also, the tranny wont downshift if I give it a bunch of gas. It will bog down quite badly. I need like 1/2-3/4 throttle before it will downshift.

I tried adjusting the cable housing for a more responsive downshift like mike described in his web page, but that messes up the shift points and makes it hold a gear too long for my taste. What do I do?
