2004r replace a 350 in a 4x4?

I have 1987 4 x 4 with a 305/350 trans combo will a 2004r (Bowtie Trans) replace the 350? The 350 is 5/16" longer than the 200r4

ON THE SITE BELOW
http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/w...350C.2C_TH375B

I found

TH2004R
The TH2004R transmission is the same length as a 6 inch tail housing TH350 transmission. The TH2004R requires a TV cable hook up at the EFI or carb with the correct geometry for correct operation

MY PAN IS #4

Image Number Transmission(s) Pan Bolts
1 Aluminum Powerglide 14
2 TH200 (Metric), TH200C (Metric) 11
3 TH250, TH250C, TH350, TH350C, TH375B 13
4 TH375C, TH400, TH475, 3L80, 3L80HD 13
5 TH200-4R 16
6 TH700-4R, 4L60, 4L60E 16
7 4L80E 17

Are the splines the same ?
Will the 2004r being 5/16" shorter present a problem?
Has anyone done this swap ? If so any bits of info will help thanks
