Re: summit west coast mirrors

If these are the one's your looking at, I'd say they should be fine. They are nice in that they won't damage your doors as bad as some do. Here's the link I found.

Re: summit west coast mirrors

I just bought a set of these but don't have them on the 68 yet....

I pulled them out of the box to have a peek and they seem to be pretty decent for the coin

Re: summit west coast mirrors

Those are the right mirrors. Po put some 3-point on mine that dont even fit right without an extra 2" bracket. Looks like crap. Truck originally came with the little sport mirrors and still has the holes, but I just dont care for that small of a mirror.

Re: summit west coast mirrors

I'd go for originals. People have taken the easy route and put cheezy accessory mirrors on these trucks for years and all the extra holes show it. Those are universal one size fits all quality. Just not for me. Can't beat OEM

I could do that but, bear in mind that even if they are stainless they still might be magnetic...

It depends on the alloy....

But yeah I'll check them as well as the heads and report my findings.....

Re: summit west coast mirrors

I was just looking at the same mirrors. I have heard both good and bad about them. I guess it's going to end up being a matter of opinion. I have a piece of junk mirror on the driver side and nothing on the passenger side (for now). I have been looking for a set of old school full size Westies. I like that farm truck look. If anyone knows where to find a set of full size West Coast style....let me know.

This is what I am looking for. I'd be willing to get them refinished. If I could only find a set.

Re: summit west coast mirrors

brackets and mounting tubes are NOT stainless........

mounting hardware is EXTREMELY cheesy

im glad i didnt mount them....i assembled and was able to hang the upper bracket over the door to "look"

i dont like em.....these pics show the very closest you can get them to the cab without SERIOUS modifications to the brackets

i slightly modified one of the tubes to try to get them closer and still dont like....

this sucks....
live and learn i guess

the search continues
