White Tiger '88 Chevy

Hello all. Just bought this pretty clean '88 Cheyenne from my brother for a steal. It's nice to have a truck again. Currently going through the trans (TH400). I'll try to get some better pics soon

Side note: I'm currently trying to decide if I should keep the stock grille or go with the sealed beams.

You do have sealed beams just dual style instead of quad.

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

Got a bit of an update. Transmission is back in, drives great, really nice to be behind the wheel of a truck again. On a side note, what is the difference with the 1988-1998 ext cab and 1992-1998 standard cab lift spindles versus the 88-91 standard cab spindles. And where do I find spindles for an 88 standard cab?

Far as I know, the 88-98 spindles are all the same, as long as they are the same weight classs (ie 1500, 2500, or 3500)

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

the early ones had a thinner brake rotor thickness, which used a different spindle. (88-91)

i believe you can just update to the later spindles, but you will also need new brake parts.

What color is this? I don't think its quasar blue, but I love this color. Does anyone know a name or color code? I'm fairly certain its a factory color.

I do not know, but I like it. Do you have access to look at glove box and get the paint code?

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

As far as I know, all the trucks I posted were 1991 models. So I'm leaning towards catalina blue. Was it ever known by other name? I'm finding Bahama blue metallic a lot. That color code is WA9656. Does anybody have the codes for smoke blue or Catalina blue?

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

Bahama blue is lighter than the 3 pictures you posted. I know for sure because when I repainted my '79 K10 it was with Bahama blue metallic and arctic white.

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

Would you happen to have pictures? The stepside I posted is apparently a color called bahama blue, it may have a slight difference in shade from the top two. I knew a guy in high school that had a truck this color, but that was then, too bad I couldn't ask him.

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

I finally got around to putting on a grille guard I've had laying around for years. It was gifted to me back when I had my 1998 GMC.

I'll have to see if I have some in my archives somewhere. That stepside is darker than bahama blue.

Re: White Tiger '88 Chevy

It's a good possibility, ideally I'm going for the color of the top two, really the whole look of the one on the right.
