I've been after this blazer for years. Guy i'm getting it from has had it since late 80's. He got it from original owner that used it in california at a ranch. It sat in salty air forever and rusted from the outside in. The frame and drivetrain are rust free and solid and unmolested. It has 56k original miles. Really loaded up blazer. Shame on the rust. Hood is only useable body panel on it. I will be getting a rust free tub, fenders, and doors with the purchase price. Hood is good and i have an NOS tailgate. Plans are to getting it running good, re-do the interior, and drive it and enjoy it rust and all. I will start bodywork on other sheetmetal, and as my 6 year old sons nears driving i will start the restoration. I want the inside to be nice to jump into and cruise, but not worry about rest, but you know how that goes. Regardless, i think it's cool, sportbird package and all.

thanks! cool thing is it's all there and completely unmolested, just completely rusted. It runs and drives great and air even blows cold, just been sitting a long time. I can play with it for a while, get stuff ready, then swap it all over when jr. is ready to drive. Course the way kids are these days, he'll want some rice rocket when it's time, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings to have this for myself. I wish i could find the decal kit for it, i probably wouldn't put it on nice fresh paint, but it would be cool to have.

O I C,it`s a Highlander.That explains it all.Too bad the 8.25 x 16.5 wheels are gone.Is it really rusted that bad?Is it rusted up in front of the rear wheel well?I guess the torque boxes are gone?W/S frame?
My son ended up wishing he had a hopped-up BMW.The closest he`ll get to that is his girlfriend`s stock one.She let`s him drive.

I'm not gonna lie those graphics are hideous by todays standards, but DAMN they are COOL! There seems to be a couple floating around on this board, but I have yet to find one in person.

Yes Kurt, same one i was telling you about. Hey Tim! Glad to hear from you. It is rusted everywhere, not worth repairing, plus i'm getting a very nice tub with it. I'm going to look for the 16.5's, i want them for it. The guy has some, but are 10" wide and would stick out way to far and look goofy. Critter, i've been a highlander fan ever since i found my first one 15 years ago, i love them, so this was right up my alley. New seat covers are being made right now. It would be cool if you could get cling on decals that could pull on and off.

Very cool.
If you really want a set of those original graphics,,,talk to Phoenix Graphics. They used my original paint Sprint, to duplicate the sprint decals from and are now sold through them.
I didn't need a set, but they have the ability to duplicate anything on a car/truck.
Up until a few years ago, these stripes weren't available anywhere

According to your glove box sticker it appears the 10 inch wide 16.5's are supposed to be on there. Probably what the guy has are original to the truck. I'd snatch them anyway, even if you don't like the width.

I think that`s the tires on the SPID...front,back,and spare.The wheels aren`t actually listed,just part of the tire package.The tires were 12.00s and the wheels were 8.25s.

I`d be real tempted to run those on a K/5 if I get one.The 12.50/33s are abundant in 16.5.There are many companies that only make that size,still.Pro-Comp is one.

Hmm, if the tires are 12 inches wide, and you say the wheels are supposed to be 8 inches,,,then I wonder what the 10 on the sticker is referring too??

I've been able to find 16.5 inch tires in a number of sizes. I run a 16.5 x 9.5 on my 79 pickup.
Funny they don't list the overall tire diameter anywhere on the tire like on some brands, But I believe them to be around 30 inches tall.

Oops! I meant the tires are 10.00s.The 9.75 wheels were not factory offerings.

For a standard size tire the 9.50s are still made here and there.There may still be some 8.75s,but no 10.00s.The rest is the 12.50/33s and larger in all terrain and mud terrain off road tires.Of those sizes,only the 12.50/33 is made by many companies and a few others make the 12.50/35s and bigger.For instance,Cooper and Dunlop offer the 12.50/33s.I think Kelly and General do,too.The 12.50/33s are at the top of the common LT size charts in A/S,A/T,and M/T.Once you go bigger it`s all Super Swampers,Mudders,Ground Hawgs,etc...except BFG

That's the first one I've seen with hubcaps. All the others I've seen just had the steel wheels painted white, but I still like the look.

Really?? There are still a couple of old blazers running around out here with hubcaps like that. I've always been a fan of steel wheels and dogdish style hubcaps. My 70 formula is that way as well as my 79 pickup.

Yeah,I love the look.It`s timeless.The earlier wheels were clip style and there weren`t hubcaps for them,since evrything had moved on to the outer nubs.Your factory wheels came with clips they made no hubcaps for.Alot of guys busted them off.I had a set of clip-type 9.75s (8-lug) that I was going to use early-50s/late-40s caps on.The GM 6-lug pattern was used on many a trailer,equipment...other type wheels.There was a baby moon on some of those that guys used.

Well, the plan was to do interior and play with it a while. Well, I have all the interior paid for and a lot of it done, not installed, but I just couldn't make myself put it all in. Funds are being allocated and hopefully soon the body comes off and the frame and drivetrain restoration will begin, here comes the frame-off. It is still going to be a long project as I don't have all the money to do everything, but a complete restoration is in the future. I will keep you guys posted.

Also considering one change. Thinking of going with tangier orange with white top instead of white/white. What do you guys think?
