well i went to go look at another blazer for sale over here in md just to see if i could find one with a decent tub or nice enough to swap all my lift and axles under so i could finaly have my big truck finished . the guys tub on the blazer he paid $9500 for the whole truck from CO wasnt in the best shape it a few years time it would have been a real basket case already had signs of rust and some bad body work growing but had a good drive train and a good set of aftermarket off road bumpers on it i saw a $2000 to maybe $3000 truck but he thought he had gold . I am going to pay my membership dues to this sight so i can post a want add on the parts side and find one . any one intrested in taking a look at a tub if i find one that is a good bit away to confrim its not a rusted out heap ? i guess with summer coming and my s10 payed off is really getting to me to get this truck done . i got all the chassis stuff pretty much wrapped up drive train is done and in just needs drive shafts . if i could find a tub with light rust and some body work i could have the truck on the road and done in a few weeks its just getting to me having it sitting in the shop all the time and cant enjoy it .

What are you hoping to spend for a good tub?

Seen them listed starting around 4K and going up to 5K for a good one and that was for "just" the tub.

How bad is your current tub?

thanks 72 levi pm me your info so i can keep it just in case i need some one to take a look in your area . vt my tub is pretty much rust and bad body work from the p.o. if you can get in to my myspace and look at the pictures under the blazer files you will see what i got . I am looking to spend anywhere between $600 to $1500 maybe $2,000 for a better tub then what i got i figured with all the parts and time i would have in it just the tub alone would be over $1500 if i fixed mine .I am not looking for something thats a tub thats ready to be put in the booth and sprayed if it needs rockers and some rust repair i am ok with it that . i just want a body that is far better then what i got . the yellow one that was for sale in the parts board with the top would have been perfect . I have away to move it if its on the east coast pretty easy . I might have to spend alittle more to get it moved from out west .

also to add my tub would be a good tub to cut up for a fire wall becuase that is the only part of the truck that isnt rusted to hell .

when I redid mine I bought a rust free tub from a guy in canada and he got it from california, cost me $4000 and I still had to do rockers and the pass side rear corner need to be fixed. All in all I think it was the way to go because mine was so far gone it would have cost me way more that that to try and fix all the rust and structural issues

rab38 yeah thats how i feel about my tub its so far gone i would have alot in time and labor and parts in it . if i have to pay a good amount for one just so i am not dumping alot of time in or parts in it . i got alot of the hard stuff done like all the suspension is done the motor trans is all done i have all the inside stuff seats gauge cluster its just the tub now that is really hanging me up hell i even got a color picked out for it . when i got the truck my plan was to build it up nice and be a daily driver / work truck .

well i found another blazer about a 2 hr ride from my house but it sounds like dr frankenstien has got a hold of it already from the sounds of the add . at least it wont be a waste of a trip been wanting to take the wifes sports car on some of them roads up there to see how it really handels

I been so board at work here i been doing alot of looking around and getting some crazy ideas some one please stop me lol . so far the taking a good truck cab and putting it on my frame to make a truck is looking really good but that would defeat the purpose of owning a really cool old classic truck with balls

well i am going to go look at another truck this weekend if everything plays out got my fingers crossed that it is a decent truck to use . I know this itch to get my truck done is driving me up the wall .

yeah i am trying to get ahold of one i found in my state hopefully the person selling it gets back to me . I just think with the time and price of parts and ect i would be better off getting one in better shape to start off with . my truck was a pa snow plow for sometime so that can give you a idea of the rust i am dealing with .
