Question 14 bolt woes!

Guys, and gals, I'm needing some help from a 14 bolt guru. I have a C&C 14 bolt with 4.10 gears. Good axle, song and all, the problem is is the brakes. They are SHOT, so I'm looking to upgrade to disc rear brakes for maintenence andsince I will be turning 40's I like the added stopping power. Anyway the kits from diy4x are only 10 bucks difference, but the rotors are a HUGE difference, 30 compared to like 100 bucks. Got me wondering can I convert my dually 14 bolt to a single rear wheel 14 bolt or is it 2 totally different axles? Thanks in advance too!!

Re: 14 bolt woes!

I have a '82 K20 and my back brakes lock up pretty easy. Don't see why you would need more stopping power than that. Maybe some drums, shoes and a new slave cyl. would be all you need. It's your money. Good luck

All good, just trying to kill 2 birds with one stone, as ice heard lots of good with em, but mainly I'm wondering of THE DRW to SRW conversion. The disc would still be tons cheaper than the drum route.

Re: 14 bolt woes!

I think the diffs are the same width and you just need to swap hubs.
