What Ways Can I use To Identify My Engine
The previous owner of this truck said his uncle put this 350 in this truck with the 4 speed.
I want to know for sure. I'd like to find out how old it is and what it came out of. Where, on the block is the ID numbers? and would somebody have a link that I can reference the ID number? Here is a pic of the truck it's in and a pic of the engine.

back side of the block on the top ( the lip where the bellhousing meets) will be something along the lines of "GM 5.7L"

Re: What Ways Can I use To Identify My Engine
Thanks DammitMichell
The missing stuff in the engine bay is miner details compared to the rest of the big picture. The rad and shroud will be replaced with something more reliable. No clutch fan. It will be an electric with it's own shroud WHAT ??? You don't recognize the old 70s torque chain? and how about those Ramhorn manifolds LOL The rest of the truck is pretty amusing too. Straight out of the 70's, with the bigfoot gas pedal, green shag carpeting, and black diamond tuck upholstery.
