Step side or fleet side?

So I ended up with two trucks two build one. I have a step side and a rough fleet side bed. At first I was going to use the swb but after walking by that stepper a couple dozen times a day it has grown on me. It would be great for those of you with step side pics to post them. I would like to see what your steppers look like, in particular those that are dropped.

Re: Step side or fleet side?

Both, use step side side pannels, to turn a full size into a "dually" but with the step side looks and function, plus a full bed. To really screw with peoples eyes, V cut the cab hood down the center to widen it.

factory full size, step side

Re: Step side or fleet side?

Before and the the during build (some day to be done)

I started to change mine to a fleet side, but decided to go back with the stepside. I just think they look better as a step.

Not lowered (can't stand that) but here is my '69 long bed

No substitute for a step side when you gotta get things done.

That's actually a great idea. I have seriously considered that before, since I can't have one of each.

Re: Step side or fleet side?

I have a swb fleetside K10. My bed is ate up and I have been looking for a nice bed for a long time. Everytime I find a decent fleetside bed, I'm a little late and a dollar short. I just found a nice stepside bed that happens to be in the same area I'm going to vacation at. It's coming home with me and my truck is turning into a stepper.

Stepside K/10 SWBs are just too cool! Are you painting it solid Ochre? White top?

Tim, I've been at a toss up there. Ochre has never caught on with my wife. I'm thinking of going with the green, (not sure what it's called, seafoam?) with a white top. The color on that old hauler is perfect. I've always liked that color. I've been thinking of turning my old fleetside bed into a BBQ grill. Always wanted a nice pig cooker.
