Went and look at a 67 today... pulled the tigger

Well I reckon I have bought a 67 swb big back window. This is a crappy pic the owner had on craigslist. Hopefully it will be in my hands by Tuesday. It has a 350/th350 that will be replaced by a lsx engine and a 6speed.

I am still working on it... this is just gonna be a beater for now. Probably gonna put a 5.3 or a 6.0 and the t56 I got in it and beat on it. I will have to put a vintage air in it too so the little one can ride in it.

It really doesn't have a lot of rust, less than a lot I have seen. And it cost about $3000 less than what I paid for the last 67 I had. It is not as nice as that truck though. This one is going to need some paint, rockers and a core support at some point but it will be a driver/work truck.

Re: Went and looke at a 67 today... pulled the tigger

I went and picked it up yesterday. At 9am this morning this was still a running truck. It had about the amount of rust I expected and some it places I didn't expect. It isn't any worse than my blazer was though. I hate AHole's that cover up rust with bondo!!! I guess I am going to do a frame off on this thing. I didn't realize until today that it had a 68-72 bed on it and it has one 68 fender on it. I may end up and take 1 1/2" out of the front and 3/4" out of the back of the cab and lean the post back, we will see. I guess I am going to invest in me a good sand blaster now as I need one for this and the trazer. I love that the guy I got it from thought it was "rust free", now I have to go get a eye exam Tuesday but I ain't blind yet.

More pics to come...

I thought about it but I didn't want to spend any money on it to just drive it for a few months. I am gonna do a mild build on this and hopefully have it done in a year or two.
