Exhaust manifolds

Does anyone know if there are problems using manifolds from a 67-72 truck on a 73-86?

Here is what I had in mind:

Curious about the exit or any interference issues

Re: Exhaust manifolds

I'm running ram horns on my 79 C10. Driver's side dumps straight down and passenger side angles back. Pretty tight around the stock starter, but I haven't had any heat-soak issues (yet). Painted them with POR 15 manifold paint and it's held up pretty well.

One other thing to consider is you will probably have to have new down-pipes fabricated for you by a good muffler shop.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

I got 2.5 inch ram horns from a corvette on my k20. A little tight but work great. I added band clamps to make exhaust removal easier. For service and such.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

I'm running these exact manifolds on my '75 GMC without issue.

don't use those gasket though, get the ones that go over the bolts after you have the horns attached. This will save your some hair.

Also remember you will need longer center bolts(4 of them) as the horns are thicker in the middle.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

Also, put some anti-seize compound on the bolts when you install them.
Will make it MUCH easier someday in the future if they need to come off.
