71 k20 differentials?
Hey all, my 71 has a dana 44 up front with a gm 10 bolt in rear. I was told by the guy i bought it from that it has 4.11 gears in it. Im looking to change them out to 3.73's but im not sure if i can find that gear size for the rear. My other thought would be to find a set of newer axles from a wrecked 4x4 and swap em out. Any ideas or opinions on what would be a better move??? I also wouldnt mind getting a rear exle w/disc rakes either

Re: 71 k20 differentials?
Your rear axle would be the Corporate rear, also known as the HO52. 4.10s is what you have and that's as high as it goes. Many people swap the 14-bots in for higher gearing. There are some simple alterations required...move spring pads and shock mounts. The Dana 44 can have 3.73s swapped in or you could bot a newer Dana 44 with 3.73,or an even newer 10-bolt.

Re: 71 k20 differentials?
Thanks for the info. What do you think the best route to take for my $ ? Don't do to much offloading and would like to be able to cruise at 75mph on the freeway.
