Smile Show me WHITE rims & small caps

Got pics of your trucks ( or anybody else's truck) with white rims and small caps.? Baby moons, stock any year. I'm thinking of getting away from black.
Some years had a white grill background like the 68 50th. Hoping to see how it would look on mine.

Here's mine with the white stockers and COPO caps on the front. Sorry for the poor quality pic, haven't taken any more of it lately and have the 6 spokes all the way around now.

Re: Show me WHITE rims & small caps

They are actually 16x7's from a ford van - eeek - I know but the caps fit perfect, and I have a set 8.25x16.5's for a 67-68 that I might sell or put on the truck but the caps are not the same ? ?

Hey Craig, Looking Good, here is my latest wheel creation - started off as a rusty set of smoothies, a little sand blast, some paint, a fresh set of moons and decals - what do you think?

Sorry, I didn't answer this a while back. I'm running 15 X 8's on the rear with 275/60R15 rubber and 15 X 6's with 215/75R15 on the front.

Whoa there new fella. You can't just drop a picture like that and not give more details. I have a set of smoothies that need a new look. Where would I get the decals like that ?

Re: Show me WHITE rims & small caps

I am running 275/60/15's on 15x8 white rims. I am not sure what the caps are from, they were in a box in the cab when I bought the truck.

If you have military base anywhere near you that has the CUCV 84 - 87 military Blazers, they came on them. Theres are a lot of them scrapped/parted out, so they're not too hard to find.

There was a guy selling those military steels and other surplus items on ebay. Unknown if he still does.

You know... I am kind of tired of all the 20+ inch mags. Those chrome dog dish wheels and 15'' tires give the trucks a real muscle erra look. It really is cool. Sometimes less is more I think.

macyak, that's the look I want for my 68.
I was planning on having my stockers widened, but will hunt for the military.
What is CUCV ?

What is CUCV ?

It was the military designation for Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle. The program was meant to provide the military with a cheaper light utility vehicles to augment the purpose-built and expensive Gama Goats and Humvees then coming into service.

Re: Show me WHITE rims & small caps

Good luck on finding the military wheels. I looked pretty hard and never found any and when I did I had to buy the whole vehicle. So I made mine. I cut the centers out of a set of six hole stock wheels and a set of five hole 8 inch rally wheels. The stock six hole wheels that I used where mid to late seventies wheels. The stock 67 wheels are a different size center section than the rallys. I press fit the centers into the rallys and then put them on a rear axle that I had set up just for this. I used a dial indicator with a magnetic base mounted to the top of the axle and checked the run out to get the wheel as true as I could, then tacked it up. After I had all of the wheels tacked up I took them to my buddy who is a full time welder and he finished up all of the welding for me. he was more thatn happy to do it and was a little surprised that I was doing this. He is an old hot rodder and widened wheels like this back in the day and didnt know anyone still did this. This seemed to be the easiest was to get some 15x8 wheels. They are harder to find than you think.
