3 Speed Overdrive tranny in scrap pile

I found this in the scrap pile at the Scrap Yard I work in. It looks like the rare overdrive tranny I have seen pics of on this site. The only difference I can see is that it is missing a solenoid on the drivers side that is in some of the pics I have seen. I dont know if it has the hole for it and just missing it or if just doesn't have one. I will have to look at it again.

How many different types of these did GM make? did they use different ones in different years?

Who is the Overdrive Expert on here?

Re: 3 Speed Overdrive tranny in scrap pile

there are 2 chevrolet ones the early one from 55-66? and the later one which was fully syncroed.
the one in the picture has the solenoid but is missing the speedo gear. may be hooped though as the lever has been wired off
