Transporting a truck from Southern CA to MD - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I was wondeing if anyone here had any leads for anyone that comes from CA to MD. I would also like recommendations from anyone who had a vehicle delievered from the West coast to East coast.

I know there is a website where you can have people bid on transporting your vehicle, just dont remember the site.

I had a suburban shipped from New Mexico to Georgia and used a guy out of Texas. He has worked with several board members and he is a car guy so he knows how to take care of old iron..... unlike some of the big truck line types. I would use him again in a heartbeat, good price and reliable.

His name is Bruce Williams, #214-226-3119

I too am interested in this kind of service. I have a couple vehicles I am looking at but the problem is they are across the country. I live in ohio and the vehichles are in las vegas and L.A. Does anyone have a ROUGH estimate what it might cost?

I know of a guy that ships/hauls from here....based out of Fallbrook (San Diego). He advertises on ebay under the name "fearlessfossil". His name is Jim Long, and he is VERY reliable. Good ol' boy, retired U.S Army. I have used him in the past. http://yp.ocregister.com/little+jims...389p.home.html

Last time I checked, he was .75 a loaded mile (charged from the point of pick-up, to the point of delivery) That is 1 on 1 service, and he'll help you unload it (within reason, he is about 70 yrs old

) Rates change with fuel prices (his hauler is diesel) He told me broker rates were around .40- .50 a loaded mile.

Unfortunatly i only like to haul OUT to the Western states. So i can bring back rustfree stuff myself.

I dont know what it cost because the buyer of my truck paid them but Enclosed Vehicle Transport picked up my 94 when I sold it & he was a super nice guy and a very nice rig and super careful with it.

Msgross I wish I had the time, but this would really be a road trip approx 3000 miles one way.

Can you insure it for others to drive? Special-K (Tim) would be the one to ask about driving it home too.. Fly out, drive back... been done before.
