Bought a compressor
Well, I went & done it, lol. The Baldor motor went out on my old 60gal. horizontal compressor a week or so ago, the date on the tag was 1977, & the pump had started leakin air out the top & was taking awhile to build air. I didn't know what kind of shape the inside of the tank was in as I had bought it about 10yrs. ago used so I was kinda afraid to put alot of money into it. I looked around on the internet at different vertical compressors, read alot of reviews, went to a few stores & looked & decided on this one

I bought it at Grainger & it was my first NEW compressor I have ever bought. The feller at the store told me that Cambell Hausfield made them for Grainger & if anything went bad they had or could get the parts. I read the manual & followed it step by step, lol. I haven't got to actually use it as I'm helping my buddy on my '69 SWB frame off paint but I did get it wired up & broke in. I had to run it for 60min. with the drain open & re-torque the head bolts during cool down. The manual said to change the oil after 50hrs. but I changed it after break in. This compressor is alot more than I needed but I bought it hopeing it does me for the rest of my life. My next project after my truck is my '68 Impala. I plan on doin it all myself, well, what my body allows me to do, using what i've learned on the paint & bodywork on my truck so it WILL get used. I bought the house next door to me for an investment & it has a detached 24X32 block garage so that's where I put the compressor. I have the house rented but not the garage so the smaller garage at my other house where I live will be used to park my '69 in & the bigger one is where I plan to do all my playing if I can ever get everything moved over there, lol.

Thanks feller. It's kinda tricky gettin the tapcons just right to hold the cabinets on the walls. You really have to be careful tightening them up as you can turn em to much real easy, lol.

Man, this thing is awesome!!!! I have been gettin my '68 Impala ready to drive to the spring Rod Runs & usin the h*** out of this sucker. It hardly ever kicks on. It's factory set to kick on at 135psi & off at 175psi. I have my main regulator set on 90psi & I took 8 wheels off, switched 4 off the Impala & 4 off the S10, & put all 4 back on the S10 & 2 on the Impala & it kicked on one time. Also, in the block garage there doesn't seem to be near as much moisture as my metal garage. I drain the water everday on the tank & there is hardly any in it. I am stoked with this air compressor!! Best $1500.00 I ever spent I think.
