LS Truck Pan - Dry Sump Block? - Where to find?
5.3 LS with a truck oil pan on it. It appears the truck pan has outlets for a dry sump kit, or maybe a remote filter. I just need to block it off. I assume someone (GM) makes a kit.
I can't find any information on it. Do any of you guys know where to find this block, or have another idea for addressing the problem? Thanks in advance. |

It is for the oil cooler. You can buy block off plates on ebay

Pretty certain it cannot be blocked off. It needs a run around plate bolted up.
88Ironduke Edit just checked the block plates out there for sale and they are indeed run around plates. Looks solid but allows oil to flow from side to the other. Don't block it off totally.

You guys rock. Thank you.
On a stock (for now) 5.3, do you think I need an oil cooler? I see guys running tranny coolers. |

I used a plate with 1/8 npt port for my oil pressure gauge.

Good to know the ports are there and can be looped but I need to run a cooler after my turbo. How big are the ports?

Look at ICT Billet. They have all kinds of stuff for LS engines. I bought their oil cooler bypass plate, EGR block off and canister purge valve block off. Aluminum pieces with O-ring seals and stainless hardware.
