Lwb To Swb

I'm Finishing Up A 69 Cst & 72 Sierra Restoration. My New Project Is Putting The Cab & Bed From A Lwb On A Swb Frame That I Have All, From A 1970. Don't Know What Challenges Are Ahead. Will The Lwb Cab Fit Without Modification? I've Seen The Threads On How To Shorten Frame But Can't Find One On Where To Cut The Bed. Will The Shortened Lwb Bed Fit Without Further Modifications? I Don't Want To Cut Before I Measure If You Know What I Mean.

Re: Lwb To Swb

The lwb cab and front clip will fit on the swb frame without any modifications.

We took a '67 lwb cab and front clip and put it on a '69 swb frame and then used '68 running gear.

When we did mine we used a swb bed so I don't know of the problems that you will have with cutting down the lwb bed.

Re: Lwb To Swb

As a LWB...

As a SWB..

(RIGHT after the resto... looks a bit different now )

Only modifications involving the conversion was a SWB from a donor truck and sectioning the frame. I converted to a 1 pc driveline, also.

Re: Lwb To Swb

Interesting article, not the way you'll want to do the frame, but includes good info about the bed shortening: link

Re: Lwb To Swb

Find a swb bed and sell that good long bed so you don't have to cut it up!! My Opinion of course . Bob
