Weird occurrence ?

Today my neighbour starts telling me the other day a guy in a tow truck was in my driveway looking at my truck and mulling around it. I hadn't noticed but I opened the door and there was a note on the seat that read 'call this number for more info on this truck'. I asked my neighbour for any info on the tow truck and he couldn't recall anything really. Ok so curiosity gets the better of me and I figure its one of those is this truck for sale or a I have parts for this type of thing.

So I call the number and I say you left a note on the inside of my truck?? He says yeah........... Long pause. I said what's the info your talking about? You have parts or what's the reason for the note?

He starts rambling on about how many trucks and classics he's had over the years and all other things about his life I'm not interested in,guy sounds like he's not all there . When I finally get a word in I say what's the reason for the note? Oh he says I figured you'd wanna talk trucks and is yours for sale by chance?

At this point this guy has wasted at least an hour of my time on the phone and I'm sry I bothered to call him in the first place because guess what he now thanks to call display has my phone number. I politely tell him it's not for sale and he says what about the nova sitting there? No I say and well I should let you go I have things to do.

He won't stop talking and I'm trying my best not to just hang up on this guy but I've had enough. So I say sorry I don't mean to be rude but I can't continue this conversation any further but nice talking to you. Now this is where my politeness ends because his response is unreal. He says what things do I have to go do? At this point I'm looking around to see if I'm on camera and this is a prank. Now I'm mad and this ends here and I reply none of your business and hang up.

Half an hour later the phone rings and its his number on the display. He's called twice in the last hour and half. Needless to say I'm pissed this guy saw my truck and knows where I live. One of the weirdest things I've eve had happen.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

Sounded like the guy just was lonely to me. Sucks that its turned into a hassel for you though! Hopefully he will just stop bothering you.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

His number is a cell so I can't reverse look up his address. I think he could be just a lonely or strange guy. The tow truck thing kinda scared me into thinking he could just tow it away so I'm gonna chain it to my nova just in case.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

Some people are just not right. I had a person call on a motorcycle for sale once, and we set up a meeting to look at it which was where I lived. Then this person calls back and starts getting all kinds of weird...like transvestite, stalking...calling again and again. The time came and went and I watched from a distance to see if this person would show. Thankfully they didn't but I watched my back for a few days! My friends thought it was funny and I was being paranoid, but it was really freaky! I had the same reaction, like "Where are the cameras?"

^^ This, for sure. Give the cops a heads-up, and ask if this guy has a history with them.

Also talk with neighbors so they'll keep an eye out for him & his tow truck.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

I just throw those notes left on my burb away.

People can be weird, and I am weird enough so I don't need any more weirdness rubbing off onto me.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

leaving a note on the INSIDE of ones vehicle crosses the line in my opinion...now you have to watch your back for a while......what a bummer!

Yeah I thought of that too,he tried to call once more so I blocked the number so the phone will just bleep if he calls again. I let it be known on my street if they see a tow truck in my driveway it's not supposed to be there or hooking up to my truck for any reason no matter what the driver of it might say. You never know what people are willing to do these days. I mean my truck isn't that nice lol.

Well he should get the hint with the number blocked. But then again....now he's gonna start to show up in person.
Check the back seat before getting in.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

If he keeps harassing you, or you feel threatened in any way, a phone call to the police is needed. Give them his description, and his phone number. They can trace it, even if it doesn't show up on a reverse search.

It may sound childish to some, but it's the first step to protecting yourself and your property.

Re: Weird occurrence ?

Well he hasn't called again after I blocked the number I'm hoping he got the message. Probably just a guy who needs to learn some social skills and learn what boundaries are. The police around here really wouldn't do much about it unless some harm was actually done, that's just the way it is up here. But thanks for the advice guys.
