Finally!!
Hi guys(and gals),
It's been 16 months since I started the new motor project and I finally got the completed motor home yesterday. There were some issues with the original design of making it a 436 and had to switch it to a 427. Final numbers came out good although not what I originally wanted. The dyno test was done in Boston where the air is thicker and damper than here in Az. so the performance could be better. The horsepower came out at 940 and more impressive is the torque which topped out at 815. The torque curve is very flat and at 3000 rpms it's at 718 and at 6700 rpms it's at 815!! Should be a handful to drive on the street. Here's a few pics: QWYKTRUK |

Re: Finally!!
Thats a hell of a motor. Did you use the blower shop blower, or was it another brand? Can't wait to see it in the truck.

Re: Finally!!
Just tossing this idea out there ya know, if it doesn't fit in your truck I'd be willing to take it. I'll even pay for shipping
But man, that thing is a monster. I'd be scared to even touch the gas pedal.

Shortbed70 - right around 5K Dino - thanks brother! - in case you guys haven't met Dino yet, you should. He is a great guy and has become a friend of mine.Twin sons of a different Mother as the saying goes. His family is cool too! Joe231 - It is actually only 5" taller than the previous motor Chief - those fatties on the back of my truck are in as much danger as your skinnies would be!! ProTrash64- jeff, I might need a passenger to co-pilot so I can make right turns. Visibility could be an issue... Love all the comments guys...Thanks !!!!! |

Thanks Mike- You are correct about the hood. Now the blower and top pulley will need room to peek thru. I may do a tilt set up ... JOhn |
