Bed mounts

I noticed something when I was putting the bed on the frame I am using. The mounts above the axle are taller then the ones on the 3/4 frame. The bed has a wood floor. The bed that was taken off has metal floor. why is the mounts different? You would think that the mounts would be the same as the other. I cut the heads of the rivets off of those mounts so I can replace them when I am ready.

Here is the frame I am using. The mounts here are mounted to the sides of the frame.

These mounts are at the left edge of the pic. they are in a totally different spot.

Now that I look at it...there is two center mounts on my frame...and none on ther 3/4 frame.

The angle mounts in the first pic have been added by someone. They are not stock. Maybe for a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer mount.

I guess I didnt think about that being a 1/2 ton frame. But then again it has overloads on it. Thanks. I know I have to remove them. They are pushing the floor up on both sides.

Re: Bed mounts

The only bed mounts you need are the front three. The ones are for a swb, and the ones and the two are used for a lwb.

It does make sense. I guess those four mounts threw me. This is my first 67-72 restore.

Re: Bed mounts

well i got out there and got a real good look at those mounts. I didnt realize they were welded on. I got to grind the welds off when I get a chance.
