Fiber optic for shift indicator...where to connect it?

I've asked this question before, but today I was actually crammed under my steering column looking for a connection for the fiber optic cable that runs from the shift indicator through the column and supposedly to the circuit board behind the dash bezel.

I don't see anywhere it could plug in. Can anyone describe in enough detail that I'd be able to recognize where it's supposed to go?

I looked at where the bulbs are kept for the circuit board as well. All but two spots on the board had bulbs with recepticals in them. Are they all supposed to be filled? I was missing a receptacle and bulb in two places on both sides of the steering column.

All of the bulb holes should have a bulb in it.

There is a special bulb socket that the fiber optic plugs into. The socket is normally located on the left side of the speedometer as you look at the dash when seated. Its appearance is very different from the normal plastic sockets as it is metal and has a receptical with a clip to hold the fiber optic in place.

It sounds like you don't have the special socket as I am sure you would notice it.

Damn. I had a feeling it was going to be something like that. Sounds like I need a regular recepticle with a bulb in it, and a special one for the fiber optic. Time to visit the parts board...

Thanks.
