Anyone Running an "X" pipe on there exhaust?

How does your X pipe effect your sound of exhaust? Louder? Rumble? More power? Never done one but i'm gonna redo my exhaust soon. Also what mufflers are you running? Thanks

Re: Anyone Running an "X" pipe on there exhaust?

In the past I have only run a crossover tube. Really no major downside as it helps. The exhaust is a little quieter due to the peaks being clipped from the exhaust notes of both seperate pipes.

Depending on the trans there can be some challanges with access and heat radiation control.

Convention says to place them where the paint stops burning off the exhaust pipes that you apply just for that reason with some hard running.

No matter what use flanges to attach and I would recommend a flex section as well for longivety and sanity.

Re: Anyone Running an "X" pipe on there exhaust?

I have an X after 4-1 headers into Dynomax single chambers. No driving drone but still sounds V8 and agressive especially at low RPM's, open it up and it sounds race'y yet smoother than otherwise. I've never dyno'd this motor so no tellin about power. What to run.. duals or balanced and which type seem to depend on what else is in your exhaust system

I am running a blown 350 with Hooker Super Comps into a 3" X crossover and Walker Dynomax Mufflers. It gives a nice smooth sound, no drones and really nice sound when you open it up.
